A kit containing 13 tactile switches and instructions for replacing all the buttons on the front panel of the Arcam Solo all-in-one music system
With age and only light use, these systems develop faulty buttons due to the silver plated switch contacts tarnishing and becoming high resistance.
The electronics in the Solo is confused by this and will act randomly when buttons are pressed.
The solution is to replace all the tactile switches behind the buttons with up-rated ones having gold-plated switch contacts, that will not tarnish and fail in this way.
This restores correct operation.
This DIY repair kit allows you to carry-out the replacement yourself at low cost.
Although the repair job is quite simple, you will need to be competent in soldering and desoldering components on printed circuit boards to avoid damaging your Solo.
